Instructor

Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist at URMC Renee Madathil, PhD

Dr. Madathil currently serves as an outpatient Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist at URMC. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The University of Montana, and went on to complete her residency and post-doctoral fellowship in both Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology at The University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Trauma Center. In addition, she completed a one-year research fellowship at the Seattle VA examining the effects of repeated, blast-related mTBI in Veterans. Dr. Madathil provides psychological services with the goal of increasing function and quality of life for persons living with chronic illness, injury, and/or disability. Her current clinical practice focuses on assisting individuals and their support systems in coping with, and adapting to, the effects of injury or illness during and after hospitalization. She also specializes in brain-behavior relationships, and the neuropsychological assessment and treatment of neurological disorders.

Access & Expiration Information

COURSE ACCESS
Once enrolling in a course, you will have 30 days to complete the post-test and course evaluation. If your access lapses before completing all tasks, you will need to re-enroll.

CERTIFICATE ACCESS
Once you have completed the post-test and program evaluation, your certificate will be immediately available for download. Access to the certificate will expire after 365 days. Find Empathy will keep course certificates on file for 7 years. If a certificate is needed, contact [email protected].

POST TEST RETAKE POLICY
You are allotted 3 retries to achieve the acceptable 75% passing grade.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is intended for psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, and therapists.

The instructional level is introductory to intermediate. While the course provides a comprehensive overview of traumatic brain injury, professionals need to already have a foundational grasp on therapeutic principles such as CBT and mindfulness in order to adapt those treatments to the specific needs of people living with traumatic brain injury.

The primary format of the course is a non-interactive distance-learning recorded video or audio continuing education course.
